Pull the rest of the air cleaner off and see if the carb is computer controlled....it probably is...as I see no Vacuum advance can on your distributor and you can't have one without the other.
It has the 87-up cylinder heads for sure and most likely an 87/88' Monte Carlo SS/Caprice intake for the straight up center intake bolts......if so, somebody did their homework on the swap.
The bad news is that the centerbolt "swirl" heads were just as bad if not worse than the original stuff for performance...but it will run just fine if you don't ask too much from it.
Pull a valve cover and get the casting number on the head......
The engine replacement looks like it was done 'right' . All the pieces and wires are in the 'right' places as far as I can tell. Nice looking car. I wouldn't worry about the engine being replaced. As long as it runs well.
