I have a 1970 barn find. The paperwork from the original owner shows lots of AC repair bills in the 3 years before he parked it in 1973. It is an original AC car. I cannot figure out the CODE NO. on the label. The model no. is correct. Is it a GM replacement?

My car is a July 14, 1970 build.
Code no: 501102???
What does this code mean? 11 would the day, 0 is for '70, and shift 2. But 50 doesn't correspond to a month. Maybe was supposed to be 05?
The after market sells replacement labels with that field blank, it is quite possible someone replaced the label and mistyped the leading 50.
There should be another stamped code on the compressor, not the label.

according to NCRS the code IS a date code plus shift: MMDDYS. 501102= 50th month, 11th day, '70 year, 2nd shift. Now, I gotta say that 50th month seems a little questionable. More sleuthing required...
