I have a 1975 corvette, the previous owner installed a alphine radio. he had 2 speakers in behind front kick plate, 2 speakers in back, put a speaker in the cutout for the jack and a Anos amplifier in rear deck.
I want to do the following. leave Alphine Radio, leave 2 speakers behind kick plate, Add two speakers in dash, leave the 2 speakers in back. remove the speaker in Jack well and eliminate the amplifier. I am trying to get the system kinda normal.
I know how I would hook up all the speakers, but can someone tell me how I would get the power to radio without the amplifier?
You should be able to just use the factory wire that would have powered the factory radio as the switched power for the Alpine, and assuming it's digital, you'll need a second unswitched power source, possibly directly from the fuse block to keep your presets and clock memory.
What model Alpine? I have a CDA- 9857 in my 76 and user manuals are still available from Alpine. Go to Alpine.com and use the support function searching for user manuals.
If you're not too tall a 6 disk cd changer will fit behind the seat, I have one behind mine.
This is the one for mine http://support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/CDA-9857%20OM.P
