I just bought a 68 C3 and it has the numbers matching block. This car has been garaged for the last 28years but now I got the driver’s door open, I read the door tag and somebody has paint over the blue color and changed the interior from blue to black. Should I try going back to blue interior? I’m not sure if I’m sold with blue on blue. Thoughts?

This is an original blue '68? Is it 976 LeMans blue or 978 International blue? Is it medium blue or dark blue interior? Either way the original blue interiors glow. I am not sure about the reproduction stuff. I am partial to blue/blue.
So the door tag is 976 and 414 bright blue but the exterior has been painted over red and the interior switched to black. When I bought it the drivers door would not open. I could tell it had been painted over, some blue spots visible where the red had chipped away but I thought the interior was going to be black. Not the case and not sure if it will be worth it to go back to blue.

As you can see, some really love the blue/blue. But what really matters is what YOU love! It's your car.
Mine is Red / Black. wouldn't have it any other way.
My other sports car is also red with a black interior.
Your car. Do it Your way!
most of the interior can be dyed blue. you may find most of the interior is blue dyed black and can be carefully gently stripped. the real questions: does it need interior work now? is the paint bad or a few chips-flaws. if it looks good as-is, don't start planning total makeover yet. the car will come up with plenty of things for you to spend money and time on. got pics?

Before you jump down the numbers matching rabbit hole you have to ask yourself what is your end game for the car. If you're not headed down the NCRS judging road than it's your choice on how you want to present the car. The only thing to keep in mind is if you repaint the car and sell it down the road you will take a hit on it not being the correct color. Interior really doesn't matter as that is easy enough to be replaced by the next owner if he want blue and you keep it black.
