Speedy,
That distributor is not from your Corvette, although it will work.
The 1111956 distributor came in the following cars:

1969 Passenger car 350 V8 255 hp with standard trans
1969 Nova 350 V8 255 hp with standard trans
1969 Chevelle 350 V8 255 hp with standard trans
1969 Camaro 350 V8 255 hp with standard trans or automatic trans
1969 Canada passenger car 350 V8 255 hp with standard trans

The correct distributor for your 1969 390 hp 427 is the 1111926 cast iron with external adjustment, single point, tach drive, vacuum advance equipped.
Cheers, Greg

Ok, I thought only Corvettes had the tac drive ? this distributor is cast iron transistorized ignition with vac module, up under the drivers side front fender is the amplifier and the date code pretty much matches the build date of the car.....8 H 19

Speedy,
Now I see where the confusion is. Your post asked about distributor tag 1111956 but your tag reads 1111954. The '954 is was also used in the '69 390 hp 427. It has a cast iron body, dual point, tach drive with vacuum advance. So yes, then this one would be correct for your car. Sorry, I should have added this one as well last night.
Cheers, Greg

You are correct brother. Magnetic pulse, not dual point. Age is creeping up on me as well!

Try Lars' distributor control units PDF:
http://www.vetteclub.org/warehouse/t...istributor.pdf

Lots of good info there.
It shows part number VC 680 for the 1969 Corvette 427 high performance. And that number is still good through Echlin or probably most other suppliers.
