Default 68 wiper cowl

Did they make a different cowl for a 68. The one I have has holes for a moulding and looks too close to the windshield. Thanks in advance. 427 4 speed

Your picture shows the grill that covers the cowl area and the wiper door so I for one am unclear what you are referring to?

Pretty sure he's talking the slots where the little trim piece goes along the wiper door right by the windshield
Guessing his is missing the trim (I think the 68 had that trim didn't it?)

The 68 had a trim piece that ran along the back of the wiper door. It was held on by 4 or 5 metal clips.

I figured as much. Looks like the 68 was different than the 69-72 but also seems like some vendors sell them as 68-72 so maybe a small difference.
By the look of the picture the fender trim is missing as well

No you're not. You were wise enough to ask.

Just to set the record straight, the long 68 wiper door trim piece only went down to the upper (top) edge of the wiper door on the ends. The 69-72 long trim piece went down further down the sides and had a rivet installed on the sides to hold it.
Also, the 68 only fender trim pieces were shorter in length and did not go all of the way back to the rear edge of the SS windshield pillar moldings like the 69-72 pieces do. The blue car photo looks like the 69-72 fender trim piece. Hope this helps. Lou.

Mine was brushed off and polished when i bought decades ago. I like it so I leave it like that. But anyway--- contrast here makes it blatantly obvious:
