On my 1982 Corvette, the wipers start moving with NO effort by me. This does not happen all the time but enough that it is a pain in the A—. Any help?

Rookie guess: if the car has a tilt steering wheel the wiring can become damaged and cause it to happen. But taking the column apart would be a last resort.
Wait for other members to advise you.
Strange problem. Usually it's the other way around and the wipers don't work at all. My guess is you have an intermittent short to ground completing the circuit or a bad switch. Again, just a guess as I own a '71 and it probably a totally different circuit. What I would do is power up and start wiggling wires to see if you can create the problem. The switch is on the dash under the speedo or tach on an '82 if I remember correctly? It's been a long time since I've been in an 82.
From what I have found the 1980-1982 had a Pulse Controller, GM 14016250.
In the 1980 Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (Thanks Willcox Corvette) it states on page 8A-49 When ignition switch is in the ACCY or RUN position power is available to the controller assembly.
If the Wiper switch is in the OFF position and the washer button is pressed the controller turns on power to the wiper motor for 3 to 5 low speed sweeps and then turns OFF power.
Your not giving much detail other then the wipers move with no effort from you, so we assume your not pressing the MIST/WASHER button in with Wiper switch in the OFF position .
Are they making 3 to 5 sweeps on LOW speed then stop?
1 sweep - 2 sweeps etc...?

Most of the time it makes 1 or 2 sweeps and stops then does the same thing over and over.
I have tired to turn them off and on and move the switch to high and back. Some times it helps but will
start all over again later on. It acts vary different at times, tries to start but stops over and over.
I have evan unplugged the power to the motor and waited till it was raining to plug it back in.
