Almost got my horns working with the push button. It appears my problem is the big horn spring is not touching the brass tabs to complete the circuit of the horn contactor. See pic. Is it installed correctly to the horn insulator? The spring is just off the brass tabs but I think they should be touching to complete the ground - correct?? What is the trick to making them touch??
TTT - not getting voltage to the top of the plunger pin.
I just copied your picture and blew it up, it looks to me as if they are making good contact. The plunger pin is not a hot wire, it's a ground and the circuit for the horn is completed when you hit the button and complete the ground. So test for continuity from the plunger to the turn signal switch connector and see if you have that. If you do then the issue is somewhere else. If you don't then the issue is inside the column. But all you have to do to test the spring to brass connection is to test continuity from the brass to the spring when it's installed or pushed downward to immaculate installation.
The picture below should help you figure out the issue.
Thanks - I have been following the Willcox trouble shooting guide - It helped a lot. In the picture it looks like the spring is touching but there is a slight space. I checked it with a meter and no continuity between the spring and brass. It is sitting on top of the insulator and just out of reach of the brass contacts. Maybe I should bend the brass tabs up slightly? I do not want them to snap off! Everything else checks out with the horn system.
