Was the temperature gauge showing over 200*F ?
What temperature did the gauge show?
Was the smoke solid white or grayish?
Did the smoke have a slightly "sweet" smell?
Did the engine make an unusual noise like a "cough" or did it try to "run backwards for a second or two"?
Does the engine "crank" for a while before it starts to run?
