They probably drove all over the parking lot looking for a safe place to land. Next to a beautiful Vette is a pretty safe bet...and the colors match too.
My wife of many many years always has to make comments about me parking away from other cars. The funny thing is that when I first started dating her, she didn’t make a big deal of it, of course that was over 50 plus years ago. I have to say that some car parking spaces are larger than others. Years ago I bought a new SUV for work, to make her happy I parked next to another car. Days latter I see the ball peen hammer shaped dent in the door. The paint wasn’t scratched, just a deep dent, needless to say, I stay away from all other vehicles. I was parked all by myself at the grocery store, and when I came out there was car parked one place next to me, yep it was a very new Bentley Convertible that probably cost more than my house. The owner came out and we spoke for a good while, a very nice guy who wanted to know about my C3.
It may just be my luck but when I park in a secluded area in a lot, when I return some joker is parked right next to me. It's as though they don't want their car to be lonely.
Would be entertaining to have a professional film crew with 20 or so wreckers and 20-30 vintage 60's early 70s American muscle cars go in there and swap out the whole parking lot. Then film a Candid Camera style reaction to the people coming outside to get in their cars, but instead see that they've been transported back in time somehow ala Twilight Zone. Probably trigger a grand mal or two lol!
Years ago went to a family reunion at a town park, in my gold 78 Trans am, (at the time). When I went to leave there was a nice shovel-nose red C3 parked next to me. Same kind of thing ...that was cool. Should dig out a picture (it's on my old phone)
I agree. It is a great feeling when a nice car parks next to yours, especially when it is another Corvette.
The wife and I were out for a beverage last summer and this beautiful 2020 parked next to our '75. A lot has changed with the Corvette in 45 year time span between the 2 cars. Great looking 2020!
