Default 69 door panels

Is there a trick to installing my 69 door panels. The person I bought them from said just put the top lip on an they should drop into place. No such luck. He said they are original 69 panels.

How are they not fitting? Not seating on the top? Lock shaft not aligned? Not seating on the bottom? I usually start by hooking the top in the tabs, swing the bottom away from the door. Once the top drops over the tabs, swing the bottom in. Are the ones you have plastic backed or press board?

Also, if left off the car for a long time they can warp (potato chip) and become a REAL PITA to work with. The ones on my '69 were removed in 1983 and were damn near impossible to install in 2019 (36 years later) without some form of "persuasion" to "unwarp" them. Even a couple of ratchet straps with some light application of water for a few days didn't help that much.
