Maybe I should have - would probably have saved me a bit of angst. But I thought that parking so far from the stores that most people would not contemplate the time and energy needed to walk the distance would have saved me from a contusion.
Looking back, it is a bit funny, but I wasn't so joyful than. I have never double parked since that might provoke someone to do something stupid. And I guess it's a bit of perspective as well, I remember my wife's grandmother talking about a "bit
of a scrape on a car" after she left the parking lot. Her explanation was "Why that's what insurance if for!"...
Classic Corvette owners nightmare: Having to park in the lot of a crowded senior center....
#2 is a little extreme!! My rule is if the driveway is mostly dry when I leave go for it. But in Oregon we have some rain 178 days/year. A big floor fan and dehydrator/heater underneath do a quick job of drying it out if it does get wet.
I'm with Kevin68 on this one.
I've probably broken most, if not all of these "commandments". After all, they're just Chevrolets not a shrine to Mother Theresa.
I've let many people, who may never have another opportunity, drive my Corvettes over the years. They're always respectful with the car and very happy afterwards.

I believe they park next to your car so they can use it as a guide. Most drivers have no sense as to the size of their cars and need a reference point to park straight and the right depth. They also don't want their car bumped and figure it must be safe way out there next to your car.
Case in point,I was in a rush with my truck and stopped for a coffee, parked way out there just to make the exit easier and kind of parked like a crooked asshat not within the lines, come out and find some d-bag parked perfectly lined up with my truck as though they were within the lines.
