Hi Fellas and Ladies,
I was looking on ebay and noticed a 69 Corvette 435hp being offered by Corvette Mike (?).
The car had a blue certification label dated 7-69. I own a very original, 1 owner ( besides me) 69 that has most if not all original paint. Needs a mid-level restoration but all there and in one piece.
My 69 has an early August 69 build date and defintitely does not have the sticker.
I checked the latest NCRS Judging Manual and it advises that sticker was added in September 69.
Has anyone seen an original one earlier?

Stay safe, AJ
Nope. Probably someone thought it needed one but was missing because of a repaint. I have always understood that the sticker started on September built '69s. My friend's July built '69 does not have it. My original paint '69 was built in September and it has it:
There are several items on the Reproduction label that makes you know it is a Repo. Some are very easy.
1. The font and spacing for the VIN are from a type writer not the POP
2. The date has the forward slash not the dash
3. The spacing on the print, black outline around the printed lettering and GM logo are not consistent with originals.
There are a few other items but can not give out all the info.
When I was with the NCRS we did a large amount of research on the different labels and decals. Looking at hundreds of original corvettes to come up with best information to give Corvette owners.
Thanks all. Makes sense. I thought I had looked into this years agp regarding my 69 however noticed the sticker on this car and wanted to revisit it.
Guess the sticker on the car for sale is a reproduction. I never understood why somebody would "incorrectly" reproduce something like this.

Keep in mind there were two Septembers for the 69 model year. September 68 and September 69.

Correct. Since I posted a picture of my certification label with the 9-69 on it and stated that my friends' July built car did not have it, I kinda figured most people would make that leap of logic. I guess I should not assume.

OP here. You're good friend. No confusion here. Thank you for the help.
