Hey all,
I am looking to remove my rear Astro Ventilation mechanism on my 69 non-AC convertible. It is pretty crusty and has paint overspray on it from a previous "restoration" and I want to do it right.
Doesn't look like there is much to it from my observations and the factory assembly manual but I don't want to snap something removing it.
It says it is cemented or sealed to the body or bracket. I have removed the 6 screws but it is still pretty firm in place and I don't want to just pry it off without some feedback.
I am sure it is pretty simple but I'd rather make sure.
Any help would be great
Thanks.
On my 72 there was seam-sealer type gunk holding it in place after I removed the screws. Old, dried and hardened. A thin blade 1" putty knife slides through that stuff fairly well and then just flex it a little bit slowly and move along another inch or two and it should start to let go without bending anything
