I would rather find a secure indoor parking garage and rent a space. I left my car out years ago with a an all weather car cover. After several months It started to harm the paint finish when wet and windy.

Got my outdoor cover from carcovers.com. Great fit and is totally 100% waterproof. I bought it a few years ago when I was daily driving my '71. Works great, has straps in front of the front tires and behind the back tires so you can get it really snug to keep it flapping in the breeze. The lining is very soft. It also has the anti-theft cable in the middle that keeps it snug too. Overall after using it for almost 3 years and 100's of storms I've yet to see any damage to the paint etc. from it. Keep in mind my car is a driver and has a 10 foot paint job so I'm not too worried about it.
I have three cars that LIVE OUTDOORS, and stay under car covers when not being driven. The Weathershield HP (from Covercraft) has been my choice for more than six years. First, their covers are made to exactly fit your particular car. Second, it is important to buy the “Gust Guards” that will secure the car cover when the wind gets over 12 mph. Third, the car covers are not 100% waterproof, because they have to breath, so moisture on the car will be able to evaporate. I know that the car covers do not offer the same protection as a heated/dry garage, but sometimes there are no other choices. The car covers will fade, which lets you know how bad the sun will harm any paint finish. The Weathershield HP Covers have a 4 year warranty, and it seems that after 2 1/2 years the thread seems to start disintegrating, but Covercraft will HONOR their warranty (keep all your paperwork). The covers cost a good bit, but you get what you pay for. The last cover I recently purchased is their Ulra’tect Cover, it’s less expensive and it has a 5 YEAR Warranty. It is a little heavier fabric and after purchasing, the instructions say to Air Dry the cover after washing (the Weathershield HP may be placed in a dryer), so after washing the cover I will just place it on the car to dry. For most cars, you may wash the cover in a top or front load home washing machine. I used to trek to laundromats, but it seems that my home machine works just fine, and I just stop the machine and rearrange the cover during the wash cycle.
I bought my outdoor cover from kono covers out of Texas. Any cover six layer and up is for outdoor use. I’ve bought three from them now and they are really nice covers! They come strongly recommended! Good Luck
