Default control arm bushings

I have repainted all my front end parts for my 80 Corvette. I am going to assemble them and am wondering if it would be ok to spray a little silicone on the mounting arm to allow it to slide into the new rubber bushings easier? is there any downside?

pictures help..i will say skip it... tighten on ground..not sure what part is metal to rubber other than the washer bolt area
