Default 50 Years old today

My un-restored 1971 LS5 4 speed Convertible turns 50 today, celebrated many birthdays with her since 1975. I had planned on giving her a wash and detail the first 2 weeks in April and take some new pictures, but I spent 10 days in the hospital instead. Came home on 4/8 and just taking it easy for a few months. Here's some photos from 2016.
Anyway, happy birthday to the old gal that's been sitting in the garage waiting for some attention.

You are a real Trooper keeping the car that many years.
Take your time getting well...I am having to do the same.

Congrats to a fellow member of the un-restored, long time owners club....
My old tank will mark birthday number 45 on 4/29/21. Ownership started way back on 5/6/76...
Guess I'll be doing a thread like this in a couple of weeks too...
Do you ever ask yourself where the hell has all THE TIME GONE??

Hope you're doing better brother. I spent about 5 hrs at the ER myself a few weeks ago.
Getting old sucks. Unless it's a C3........

Thanks for the kind words guys, it's been 3 weeks since the hernia surgery and I'm feeling better every day. Having a blocked intestine didn't help, that cleared up several days after surgery....the CT scan confirmed it. Pretty amazing how they can glue the incision, no stitches on the outside and it can't be seen wearing swimwear. Spending 10 days in the hospital was too long, never could get comfortable in that crappy bed...left side of my butt is still a little sore.

Saw my surgeon last Friday for a followup and he said everything is looking good. All of my plumbing is working, my belly is flat again, and the swelling of my junk is back to normal (didn't know that was going to happen).
Our friends and neighbors have been really helpful making sure we have plenty to eat and making trips to the store for things we need.
I feel like I could go out right now and wash the Vette, but I know I shouldn't...my wife is making sure of that, especially since she had to call 911 at 5am to get my *** to the hospital. No lifting for 2-3 months and my surgeon suggests 6 months for a full recovery.

Thanks again to my C3 Corvette brothers.

Never thought I would still own her in 2021!

Who’s holding up better, you or the car?

Sorry to hear about your medical issues. Rest up and follow your instructions despite all the temptations not to.

A wise older man once told me that. Getting old sucks but the alternative isn’t any better!!!

stay well. Ike
