Hello All, I am new here and in desperate need of some assistance.
I have a 1974 Convertible that the inside was redone using 1979+ parts. I am trying to redo it and have all new interior and parts BUT I found while trying to put on the 1974 leather door skin, that all of the hardware (opening mechanism, lock etc are all different to include the latch).
Does anyone know if a 1974 door latch mechanism will fit/ bolt onto a 1979+ door? zip corvette and corvette America were not able to answer.

The latches themselves are the same, but you already know the inside door handle on a '79 is in a totally different location on the door so all the parts between the handle and door are different and the inside door handle and lock are also different.
Could possibly the previous owner put '79 doors on your '74?
