Default 1973 front left hazard lights

Hello Friends,
Many help over the years with my Corvettes. Sold my 82 a few months ago and picked up this 73. Had some minor oil leaks fixed and also now have new brakes. YEAH! Love the car and it runs great. Question concerning the hazard lights? All turn signals work including the side lamps. Brake lights and headlights are all perfect. When switching on the hazard lights the front left do not work or flash at all even though both front left turn signals work. All other hazard lights blink fine except the left front. Have not had time to break out the AIM or wiring diagrams yet. Too tired tonight from taking care of other things. Any suggestions where to start? Strange problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone

it sounds like a bad contact in hazard switch.

I would check ground for that socket. Could be flasher has less current than turn signal . Akso use test light and see if you are getting pulsating at flasher and front socket

I'll bow out and let you help him. Schematic shows 2 separate flashers, fuses and loads but you seem to know what's up. I really cannot stand people who have to put others down with language if they don't agree.

Sorry Mate, didn't mean to offend anyone. Clearly we are looking at different schematics. Here's GM's schematic of the hazard- turnsignal circuit complete with schematic of inside of turn signal/hazard switch.

Now you can see 2 separate power in's to the switch (actually a third for brake lights). one through the turn signal flasher and the other through the hazard flasher. and a dark blue and light blue coming out of the switch for the front signals. light blue for left turn signal. only one wire for left front signal. If the left front works with the turn signal switch. We know the light blue wire and the ground for the left front are working. But look at the inside of the switch schematic. the second throw from the left is the contact for the left front signal when the hazard switch is engaged. this contact is bad.

Thanks very much for the information. Ugh!!! Now I guess I will have to search the forum on how to get to the switch and remove it. Never tackled that before. Any suggestions? Thanks again folks.

Hello, its a tilt/telescopic column. So now things have really gotten weird. I went out the garage to start looking at the situation. I am OCD with my cars so if something does not work it drives me CRAZY!!!! As usual, when I activate the hazards all corners work except the front left. After turning on the hazards when I turn the little black **** on the column counterclockwise (towards me the driver) everything works. I tried this about 20 times. Once the hazards are on if I just turn the black **** a little towards me everything works including the left front. I tried to loosen and tighten the little black **** to see if that would help. It did not. Once hazards lights start I must turn the **** towards the driver and then all work. Do you think this is still a switch problem or maybe something with the stalk or **** for the hazards? Maybe something with the wiring? I'm at a loss at this point. I love this car!!! It has some small needs but I want it to be perfect. Thanks so much for your help.
