Last month I thought about selling my 72. I didn't really advertise broadly, perhaps because I was on the fence a bit. Several people were pretty excited but what I have found there are a lot of folks out there that talk a lot but that's it. I had one guy that gave me a deposit and then was a no show after wasting my time. My question is if I do decide to list it what is a fair price? I listed it at $25K but feel that could have been a little light. Here are the spec's on the car:1= Chevrolet

I just bought and registered original 1972 plates to the car.
That car is beautiful. I think you're correct that 25K is a little light. If it were mine, I'd ask 31.5K, which gives potential buyers the idea before they even see the car in person that it's in very good condition, and no low 20's price will buy it; but still with a little negotiating they can have it for 29.5 or 29 (in case anything over 30 scares them).
There is a buyer out there for that car at that price. How soon you find each other is the question.
Thanks Larry, I appreciate the information and agree. I have a few things to complete so that everything is operational on the car. One thing I dont like is the door panels, seems like they should fit better.

Good luck with whatever you do.

I'd agree, Corvettes in that condition are in high demand even with auto & 200hp. UK here but I sold the same car with no AC and red/red 18 months back for £25k or $35,400
I think you can get $30,000 for it. I would prefer a 4 speed, which I have in my 72 but I don't think the auto will hurt much. As far as getting that price it might depend on how bad you want to sell it. If you have time I think you'll get it or very close. If you want to get rid of it in the next month maybe not. It's a great looking car.
If the cage, frame, etc. is as nice as the rest of the car looks from these pics - no way would I take $25k if you decide to sell it. As mentioned, maybe $30ish. Also as mentioned, a stick would increase the value some, but that's a nice car, with working A/C. IF you decide to sell, BAT may be the way to go. Good luck, Paul
BHMeyers1968, IMHO, it all depends on how bad you want/need to sell it. There's a big difference between "I need to sell it bad" and "I don't really give a ****, one way or another" I would ask $32K then if somebody hits you in the high 20's you can "Do the Dance" and take it from there. Fours years ago I sold my mint '66 Bel-Air 283 V-8, factory air. powerglide, etc. owned 25 years [pic attached] I asked $15K, guy hit me with 12K, no-way was I gonna sell it for that, so I dropped to 14K, he comes back at 13K and we were both happy with that. Good Luck and Regards, LowSporty

From what I've seen, a 72 in that condition should sell close to 30k, the difficulty will be in finding a buyer that wants a low hp auto version of one.
As far as pricing, I like to use the app Corvette DNA+. it can be a little high or a little low, but if you are honest with your entries, it will give you a pretty good range. I made a token effort to sell my car while I was building my house (during the worst part of the pandemic) and used this app for a guide.
