Spark plug boot protector.
I am running headers on my 1974 SBC.
should I buy spark plug protector sleeves? I’ve had these headers on for 5 years and the plug wires do not touch anything, they appear to be fine and still work great.
Is it necessary to buy any protectors for the plug wires? I’ve never had any issues with these plug wires.
(also if I do buy any, what type/brand would y’all recommend?)

I'm running MSD ignition/wires and Hooker headers. I ran my wires under the headers so I don't need the boots. Cleans up the top of the engine also.

I have headers on a SBC and thought about putting red Accel spark plug boot insulators on just to add some color to the engine compartment and match the exterior color of the car but talked myself out of it. My wires and boots don't touch either but thought about doing it for other reasons - engine dress up. Pretty easy to add and change as your mood and interests change over time. Not too expensive to do either. Found a set of SBC Accel heat shield protector sleeves for under $20 with free shipping on eBay.
