Hi
I have 72 and after a very heavy rain I notice water drops on the brake peddle and on the floor mat. Obviously not coming from the roof, so maybe the hood vent or wiper recess? Amy ideas would be helpful.

the panels can be leaking and the water is running down the channel to the wwindshield then over to the A pillar which can let it run down to the dash area

check your firewall on that side carefully with flashlight. Also check to see if you are losing coolant. I had a coolant leak that made its way inside the car once. Turned out the heater hoses needed to be torqued down. Good luck and welcome.
Open the wiper panel and put a hose down into the fender area. There are drains on each side just below the fender vents. If these become clogged with leaves and dirt, water can back up and leak into the interior of the car. I use a coat hanger or screwdriver from the bottom to help clear the vent. Do it on both sides. Mine used to leak from the wiper trough in the middle area of the dash..
Get a hose and start running water in the wiper trough to see if that's your source.
I had no idea what I was doing and just wanted to stop the leaks so here is what I did:
It was ages ago and this is my recollection ..... . I tried using undercoating to seal it, and it got better, but not quite right. I ended up removing all that undercoating, cleaning it really well, then I put it on a level surface, and poured resin (with hardener) in there. I'm not too sure if there were low spots in the wiper trough (like I said it was ages ago) but if there were I put some fiberglass cloth down--- but that's not clear in my mind. Anyway,, no more leaks. I had no idea what I was doing and just wanted to stop the leaks.
There might be better products to use nowadays but that's what I used.
