Chrome bumper Restomod Vettes did very well yesterday afternoon. Evidence of this 69 which sold for 88k that includes the buyer fee. Just my opinion, we have some members here that have much nicer restomods than this one. Don't let anyone tell you restomods can't compete with originals.
WOW- the blue 69 has a LS swap and bolt on wheels..Stock suspension...original vacuum system- stock interior- no body mods?
It's really tough to call it a "custom?"
You're thoughts are the same as mine, Richard. BTW, you happen to be one of the guys I was referring to when I said members here have nicer resto's/customs than the cars listed.
It seems like the resto-mod market has taken off the past few years. Some restos are bringing as much if not more than a documented original. And thats not just Corvettes, its all old 60's muscle cars. Guess there are a bunch of us old geezers that want to relive our youth with modern conveniences. To me some are great and some, other than the basic look are way too over the top to me. If I were doing or looking for a resto-mod I'd want it looking mostly stock with modern drivetrain and suspension.

Went to a show fathers day every other car was fuel injection, very few stock motors, or interiors. Most likely these cars were on the way to the junk yard and were cheaper to custom. NOS parts are not on your local dealerships shelves any more so you do the resto route.
