Default 1982 Vette with Hatch/Hood issues

Father in law passed away and we're trying to revive this classic.

When I pull the hatch, nothing happens and you'll see in the photo that there is a gap between the window and vehicle...how can I remedy this?

Also, when I pull the hood release on the left side pops...what is the proper way to open the hood on this beast?

OK, for the brand new member with one post who lost his FIL, this is the most recent post by our resident expert on Collector hatches:

get the hatch OPENOkay as the local expert on hatches...and having written about this BEFORE... (use the search button #$%^&!)

Locate the black hinge's
Look underneath them....you will see one allen head per hinge.
These attach to the 'buttons' that secure the hatch.,
remove the allens.
CAREFULLY lift up the leading edge of the glass.
NOW you can gently push the glass forward about a 1/2 inch.
Now you can release the latches if the cable is still functioning.
Re-adjust the rear latches all the way backwards and
remove the fiberglass cover under the window and readjust and tighten the cables.
