I can't answer your question, but anyone that could would need to know what parts are on the engine you're putting it into. Also, post the specifications of the two cams so people don't have to look it up themselves (lift, duration, overlap).
While I am certain there must be numerous companies out there grinding cams for Chevy's. Must admit, never heard of either of them. perhaps choose a name brand cam. Howard's, Crane, Comp cams, etc.
Without knowing your exact application, it's hard to say.
Both cams are pretty generic in pattern. If you are running an automatic, a small stall convertor
may be needed.
Both manufacturer's are decent OEM quality. and I'm pretty sure both company's are owned by Federal Mogul. (along with several other brands)
I have used both manufacturer's products, without issue. Elgin is more a "stock replacement" company. Where as Speed Pro "used to be" a performance company. TRW bought "speedpro" years ago, but TRW was bought by Federal Mogul... It's a corporate kinda world!

I'm fairly certain all three of those brands are made by Howards as crane lunati and comp are all owned by the same company also now and howards makes many but not all of the comp grinds... Speed pro is/was known for pistons and Elgin is an Older name brand for other components like pushrods so its likely an OEM grinder like howards makes them for those companies too. Summit used to acquire their cams from comp also..
