Hello I have a 76 corvette with a quadrajet and it’s having a problem while driving it which to me seems to be a fuel starvation issue. At first I thought it was a clogged filter which wasn’t the case as I cleaned them out and replaced them and that didn’t seem to fix anything. The first filter is a clear glass one which after the car died on a drive and I pulled over I checked it and it was almost empty. I removed the gas cap and started it and it seemed to fill up a little bit(I tried it again and it didn’t work). I don’t have the problem when the engine is cold and when I start it the filter fills up all the way and it’s fine until I go for a drive while it’s warmed up and give it gas it it sputters and loses all power. This is a new problem and Im not even sure what’s causing this any information or ideas of what’s going on would be very helpful.

Some very good suggestions.....You have a fuel problem. If your car runs good when its cold, meaning your choke is set, then you are cutting off the air and its just enough air for the little fuel you are getting. Fuel pumps break, a lot, especially if they are newer Carter **** pumps. Once you decide it is the pump, buy a high performance pump or spend the extra for a quality one. You need to find out who make the best fuel pump for your year. I went with a few before just buying an Edelbrock race pump and clocking it so the fuel lines would line up. Now i run electric
If you pop the fuel line off before the fuel pump, you should have a steady, solid flow of fuel from the tank. If not, youre strainer is collapsed or clogged.
Getting a fuel pressure gauge is a must really, just so you now what your pump is putting out. It should be below 7 psi and above 3 psi. If it isnt it needs to be replaced if the pressure is low. If its high you need a regulator
Have you changed the fuel filter inside the carb? It should be a paper or stone filter. Jerry
Yeah I replaced it. Strangely enough it turned out that the fuel line was kinked to which my dad found it out while I swear I checked it about a dozen times 😅
