Default Gap around windshield pillar

Trying to figure out how to minimize the gap - see photo. It’s on both driver and passenger side. You can see the red painted area.

I replaced the weatherstripping on my 73 convertible and you can see the red paint also. I don’t recall that there was any adjustment that can be made. If you do get new weatherstripping, make sure to buy the Correct screws, if they are to LONG the windshield could get cracked. Don’t ask me how I know. You can also warm up the “A” Pillar Moulding to get a better fir at the top. Don’t use a heat gun, maybe leave the moulding in the hot sun for a while, or a hair dryer.

Something doesn’t look quite right in the way that trim is put together. Hmmmmm?

thank you for the pic. Any chance you can share a few more? I think I need to remove the panel. Something definitely is not put together properly.

the pillar in your photo looks typical to most c3s just mask off and paint the red metal area black
there's nothing wrong with your a pillar, the interior trim should cover the metal more but the trim pc gets warped with age

You might have an aftermarket pillar post trim piece installed.
