With your clarification as far as condition. I think my number if $11 to 12k is were it would realistically need to be.
I cannot see him getting anywhere near what he has put into it. The market doesn’t work like that. From your description it sounds like it still has a “worn” look to it. Anyone who is willing to throw a crazy number down will want everything nice and shiny!!!

thanks. That's along my line of thought. It looks very good in pictures, but in person it's definitely not a polished gem.
all C3’s have an emotional $ component (not much practical value here,ha!). Willing to over pay to a point; I would pay an extra 2k, but there is a limit to the emotional adder.
things are only worth what you can find somebody to pay for them. IMO, very unlikely to find a buyer for 25, nor likely even 20.
So, if you REALLY want it, I say offer him 16 plus 2 or 18 max and tell him if he can find a buyer for more, then by all means sell it for more. I believe he will call you in 2 or 3 weeks and take your 18.
Sell the Camaro.
Buy Paw Paws vette.
Finish the restoration.
Keep his dream going.
Pass it on to your kids.
You got a multi-generation item here.
Feel good about it.

eh. I'm so in the hole on the Camaro, I'd be losing what the vette costs. Plus, I like to go faaasst. This vette isn't fast. I'm going to take the vette out this Friday. And probably offer the original 15k I had in mind.
Looks good to me and you have the history of car which is worth thousands of dollars. Buy it life is to short and what can you buy for that price as a sport car?
Agree. I am way upside down in my 68 that i have owned since I was 17 ( 1985). I could use the cash but nope, the kids can sell her. Hard to find a car that has an attachment like that. If I had a chance to get my hands on my Granpa's 70S something Caddy I would in a NY MINUTE.
