That’s what I was thinking. All this time I thought I had a 3.55. Is the 3.7 better for torque or hp?

That's assuming the original gears are still in it, many have been replaced over the years. There's not a huge difference between 355 & 370. The higher the ratio the faster off the line the car will be but also will have a higher RPM at cruise with a 1:1 final trans gear. Of course the trans gearing has a lot to do with it as well.
