E brake not working
Hi All good morning, I just purchased an 81 with a 4 speed manual- The car was delivered yesterday, determined the parking brake does not work. Is this common? Also, is this an easy repair?

Yes,,,, No... I would start under the car. See if the P brake handle pulls the cable and if it is connected to the Y intersection cable that goes to the 2 rears. Sometimes people disconnect it.

If it is connected or its loose yo need to tighten that cable up and adjust the star nut in the rear disc hub to tighten the brake up. They can rust up and seize, both the cable and the assembly inside the disc/ inner drum. If it is all rusted and seized there are stainless steel replacement parts available. They do wwork ell when adjusted properly, just takes about 2 days of patience and swearing

As mentioned it could be an easy fix.....or not. I did mine on my 68. I'm old, weak, and can't see well so it took me more than two days. Plenty of great info available to help with the job.
