Like the title says. What is the correct size for the intake manifold bolt on a gen1 SBC. 3/8th's 16 ×1inch?? or × 1 1/4 inch?? I really don't want to pull one at the moment. Just want to have everything ready when I do pull the heads.
Edlebrock alloy manifold if that makes a difference.
I have read that to long can cause some pushrod interference. That can't be a good thing.
What is correct?
Thanks guys.
The 4 outer corners are blind holes so those bolts cant be too long or they will bottom out. Near the middle of each bank is 1 bolt hole that can interfear with a pushrod if the bolt is too long. That bolt needs to be the shortest. If you have lift brackets you might have a few longer bolts.
1" should work for all holes........make sure you use PTFE ora sealer on the for center ones as they go to oil/valley...and will be a constant source of seepage if not sealed.
I pretty much only use this set anymore and the correct number for any other engine...12pt stainless.
