76 body on a 79 frame?

76 body on a 79 frame?

Howdy there,

I have a 76 Corvette and found a 79 birdcage for sale and wasn't sure if it would fit on it. Both are automatic so that's not an issue. I was just wondering what I would have to change if anything. More specifically the rear is what I'm concerned about.

Birdcage and frame are two different animals. Are you wanting to put the 76 body on a 79 frame or put a 79 birdcage on a 76 frame?
Swapping a birdcage is a huge chore.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I want to put my 76 body on the 79 frame. It comes as a birdcage but I am just looking to use the frame.
