Default Replacing rear storage compartment door frames - how to?

As usual, the door frames have broken and need to be replaced on the '81.

The outer main frame they hinge from is fine, but the doors themselves need new frames, which I have ordered and have on the bench, ready.

Having considered all the options, I decided to keep the original doors for originality and also to keep the original carpet matching the rest of the interior carpet, rather than have two new silver door carpets surrounded by 40 year old original stuff.

What is the prescribed method of removing and replacing the door frames, as they appear to have an almost dove-tail joint down each side that doesn't want to budge - do I just grind this back smooth? I have the corvers lose, but it;s stuck fast where those dove tail joints appear to be,.

Also tips on fitting the new frames appreciated.

Thanks.

Please send some pics.

I just did mine on a 70 (3 door). My hinges were screwed on the door side and pop riveted on the frame side.

To be fair, I've figured it out - you cannot remove them without destroying them as they are effectively bonded on as part of the fibreboard/resin door construction.

I'm now just fitting the new frames, but need to find the correct shade of grey to match the original.
