First time ever! I got pulled over in my Corvette!
Well, it had to happen! Plus my wife was in the car with me!!
Well after dark my bride and I were visiting in Idaho and on our way back to the hotel.
Sitting at a left turn light, it turned green for us and my rear view mirror was immediately lit up with red and blue flashers! Yikes!
The Idaho State Trooper pulled me over for no tail lights! Doh! Later discovery showed we blew a fuse.
What a great guy! Lots of questions about my car, lots of chat about cars he'd had, AND he escorted us the rest of the way to the hotel!
No ticket was written!
This guy left me feeling very good about our boys in blue! Hats off to him!
19 years in my vette and that was the first time I have been pulled over in it!
Lucky Scott. Its a good thing you ran into him, before a soccer mom ran into you. Corvettes are hard to see at night with no tail lights. Most law enforcement are car guys and won't write the ticket unless its for stupidity. Glad your story had a happy ending.
Stateys are usually more relaxed until it is time to be otherwise. My guess is he was more concerned that you did not know and was concerned for your safety over writing some CS violation. As someone said, the way it should be.

Similar experience here but during the daytime. Local cop stops me to tell me my reverse lights were on. Probably not illegal but he was nice enough to let me know. And he complimented me on the car. There are some cities you couldn't pay me enough to be in a blue uniform. Too many lunatics out there and lack of support from gov't officials.
I got pulled over for speeding on my first test drive in a corvette, had not been pulled over 30 plus years before that. Officer came up to the window and asked if I knew how fast I was going and I said yes because I wanted to see how fast i could get it it there... he laughed and just said it going to rain so better get it back home.. slowly... Really good guy...

I got pulled over by a sheriff a couple of weeks after I bought mine.
18 year-old kid. Brand new Vette in transit.
He checked everything out and sent me on my way.
Never did give a reason...
Great ending, glad no ticket was given. Just curious, what caused the fuse to blow? I'm always worried that a blown fuse is just the symptom for something more serious. Any thoughts?
I was at a fancy place where they park your car. Give the boy my slip and he drives up and gets out. He then said "what do you have in this?). Another boy walks up and says what will it do? the other boy asked if I would get on it leaving the parking lot. So I did and bet I was about 100 when I got off of it. THEN, lights flashing about a quarter mile behind me so I pull over and am stopped. He finally reached me and stopped behind me and asked me what to hell I doing.
I told him the truth and he pulled out his ticket book and hesitated. He asked me what I had under the hood? Then looked at me and said "hell aint enough paper here to wright you up" Get the hell out of here.

Another salty dip. Got stopped in a rural area of Nova Scotia at 1 AM coming from a bar. I had picked up a case of beer and had it laid in the back, of course. Luckily, the wife (to be) was driving. RCMP officer asked why the case of beer was not in the trunk?
I got pulled over goint 47 in a 35 while passing a truck in an area with notoriously strict cops. Regular license and registration blah blah when he told me my speed i was actually suprised, and expected to get a ticket. What i didnt know is that he had just visited his brother, who had just bought a 78 silver anniversary car! My lucky day we just started talking about c3s and how cool they are and he let me off. He told me to have my fun, he just didnt want to see any of it while he’s on duty. Nice guy 👍🏼

I got my first ticket in my vette less than a week after I bought it....for speeding- 40 years ago!!!
sadly no fiber optics. Previous owner cut the fiber. One day I’d like to fix them though! Worse yet, the dash lights are on the same fuse and were also out. I did not notice at the time! Doh!
