Not my rims/tires. No affiliation with the seller

Are these 1973 YJ8 rims? Part number cast in is 329381. I am curious.

Tire has a date code of FMH473. That translates to the 47th week of 1973, or the 4th week of November. November 1973 is already into Model Year 1974 production by several months.

I suspect these are over the counter rims from 1973. Lyle -- are you out there??

Do you know anyone at the Corvette Museum? Zora's retirement gift, a 1974 Corvette, wears a set of pre-production YJ8s. Perhaps they could at least confirm the casting numbers and shape.

Here's a related about the porosity issues of the early castings, for anyone who happens upon this thread. Amusingly, GM again has this problem with C8 wheels. Note: The last paragraph states that the 80-82 N90s lost another 8 lbs. This claim is false, so take the rest of the facts in the article with a grain of salt.

I have a set of the wheels. The part number and date code look good. The letters XM are also on the the back. I have posted over the years and communicated with Ed Mc.... a fellow NCRS member. My wheels came from the parts department of the Chevrolet Dealer that sponsors Delaware Valley Corvette Club in the Philadelphia suburbs.

I believe that your photos are from an Ebay ad for a seller in Richland, Ms.
