I'm a little confused. How many horns on a 72? I have two on the car. One is an original Delco 9000032 stamped A which is correct for the car. The date code indicates Nov 9 1971. There is a second horn that is clearly aftermarket. The AIM for 1972 is only showing 1 horn, the 9000032, but all of the vendors sell them in Hi/Lo sets.
I have a service manual with a wiring diagram that only shows one horn (low note). so it appears that only the one horn is correct. Can anyone confirm? Thanks
I think there is some debate on this, My 72 has two factory horns located under the headlight bar. I don't recall if there is a third separate security horn.
My 72 has only one. Everything I've ever seen (haven't seen everything!) says 72s have only one. And when I ordered a new forward lamp and horn wiring harness, it had only one horn connector.
all the tech manuals and ncrs judging guide i have, all say 1 horn for a '71 and '72 up the front.
security alarm horn trumpet rear wheel well.
after being cut off and almost run into many times, i have added another "very loud" modern style horn up n under the front cover, not noticeable from the engine bay.
played around a at a friends workshop with his junk cars and found a nice n loud deep tone unit,
with the original still connected as well, it's annoyingly loud now....
