Im always worried about damaging the OEM glass tops on my 80. They are really nice, but also over 40 years old! Came across the Astro Tops for the C3 that would allow me to store and preserve my original glass tops. I’d like to hear from forum members that own the Astro Tops.
...I had mine on my '75 Corvette for 4-5 days before I sent it back for a complete refund about 17yrs ago. I thought the latch system on it was very chinsy & cheap. Mine didn't line up at all with the side windows and huge air & water gaps were created, but there were absolutely no gaps of any kind with the stock t-tops. They were very pissed that I had sent it back requesting a refund. Supposedly, when they received it, it was badly damaged and they accused me of not properly packaging it for shipping. Hell, I even used the EXACT box, styrofoam & everything that it was sent to me in. When I told them I would be contacting the BBB and their state's attorney general, they finally sent my refund. Some people have had decent experiences than others, but mine was very poor.
Sits on a shelf in storage.. Does not do well in Florida heat.. warped.. was told I should have gotten a reinforced model...
Was told to send old one back and pay for a reinforced one... Pay (2) get one.. no refund no credit...lesson learned!
I had the Thompson astro tops t-tops on my 80. They worked very well. This is not the one piece top. These are acrylic made on the frame from glass tops. They are around half the price of glass tops and look good.
I also had a one piece Astro top back in the mid 80's, it worked ok, but tended to have air and water leaks.

Yes it is the T tops that I’m looking at, not the 1 piece top. They state uses OEM frames and hardware. Do you have any pictures?

No, I sold the car recently, but I have glass tops for my 75, and the astro tops look just as good. If you decide to purchase, make sure it comes with all the hardware and latch covers inside.
