Default Chasing stop turn kight gremlins.

EDIT: Chasing stop turn light gremlins

'71 Vette, I do all my own work. That being said, these lights are beating me up.
Here's what I know:
Good grounds to all sockets.
Running lights work fine with their own filaments.
Brake lights light up fine on their own filaments
Brake switch is fine, but to be sure I put a jumper across orange and white.
Turn signals disable the brake light and work thru flasher.
So here's the problem:
Without the running lights on (headlights off) the brake lights work properly and the turn signals flash properly. BUT, when I pull the headlights on, the turn signals change to a slow, weak, flash.
Can of worms. The last thing I want to do is pull the the turn signal switch.
Any ideas?

A couple things to try-

First see if your hazard switch in not halfway pushed in/out

If that doesn't work-
Disconnect the 12 pin connector for the rear harness-at the fusebox- that'll isolate the front from the rear -then see what happens.
You can use a test light/meter on the 12 pin and see if the brake lights work without the lights connected.

And here's a diagram of the harmonica that might help diagnosing-
