Depends where ya look on my 81. It's black overall, but body color on areas where it went through the spray booth and was in the 'line of fire' when being spray painted, and got overspray on it (windshield frame, near door, etc)
Did GM change the color of the birdcage over the years? On my 69 it is green and on my 71 it is black (and mostly oversprayed with body color).
There was an informal NCRS forum poll/data gathering about this a few months back: Yes, green or black. There didn't appear to be any pattern to it as both colors were on Corvettes of the same year, throughout the model run, and the same body styles. It appeared it was just something that was switched back and forth with no rhyme or reason.

Built July 9, 1970. Under dash, behind seats, behind kick panels, windshield frame, no sign of green anywhere. All black, never restored.
Perhaps there was a small window late 70 early 71 they ran out of green?
