I have pulled the old antenna out of my 79. I have no desire to replace with a new one, nor am I looking to fiberglass over the hole thats left behind. I am looking for recommendation for plugs. The vette is white, so a black plug is probably my preference, with chrome coming in 2nd. Surely there are some hardware store rubber plugs that would fit and stay put. Any recommendations? Bonus points for links to purchase.
One option that comes to mind is ...They make black bumper bolts. Some are domed on the top, and there are some relatively flat headed bolts. Put a big washer beneath. Here's an example of a domed bolt, but you should be able to find a smaller pack ..or a flat style with some searches.

was your antenna power? if so any pics? do not throw away if original power
the 79 is a pretty flat hole.. suggest buying a plug from here? or buying a replacement oem style and leaving it..the hole disappears..
Interesting. I removed my antenna when the radio stopped working. This has interesting options. But I may put an antenna back. I liked hanging an American flag from it and HPDE and Time Trials.
New idea: Get a chrome 90 and put one of these on it. He he. You'll get the most pictures and attention at the car show! I worked at a restaurant in high-school. The bar guy threw away an old tap handle. I mounted it on the dash of my car as a gag. In college, there used to be strangers who would walk by my car in the parking lot and notice the tap out of the corner of their eye. It was a real conversation piece. I'd have other students search me out across campus just to say they loved the idea! lol

Good idea-
How about one of these and you could always get a premium parking space!!!

better convo piece for car shows. hook it up to a keg on ice behind the seats...
Lowes, plumbing area, chrome plug for where the old spray hose was located on the kitchen sink.
1.75 " O.D. Would need some hot rodding to attach from the underside but it looks like the O.D. would fit in the antenna hole nicely, low profile, chrome.
