Default Modifying my oem crossmember

Hi everyone,
I would like to know if there is a way to make my th350 crossmember work with a th2004r.
I have the transmission already and I’m a fabricator by trade but was curious if it can be done without cutting and welding.
Thanks for any help with this.

what year is the car?
Automatic OEM?
Manual O.E.M.?
Is the car original number matching etc?
I think Manual transmission cars have a welded crossmember that the rear mount of the trans bolts to.
Auto trans cars have a removable plate bolted to the OEM trans crossmember.

There should be detailed threads in the C3 GENERAL and C3 TECH FORUM that explain the modifications needed.

If you car is a resto-mod, you can carefully use 1/16" thick circular cut-off wheels of different diameters to slice through the crossmember body welds to remove the OEM crossmember without distorting-destroying it.
Then you can fabricate metal plate to bolt the Th200 into place
OR you can fabricate metal plate that will bolt to the OEM crossmember as is.

Post pics of what you have done/have removed so far.
