Finally had some time to dive back into my 1980 over the holiday break. Trying to diagnose some interior electrical gremlins. (and practicing patience!!!) Long story short, I pulled out the globe box interior. Photo attached. I know the orange box is the courtesy light timing module, and I can see the wires that connect to the glove box light, as well as the sets that go to the door lock and window. No issues with those. However, in that photo is another connector. Black and Orange wires coming out of the harness to a connector, but then they go to a set/pair of black wires that end up in their own shrink sleeve. The wires on the other end are not connected to anything. Just open. They're also don't appear to be cut with wire cutters, but rather pulled out of something maybe. I was also expecting to see 12v on the orange wire, but there wasn't. Any idea what that connector/wires is for?
I have a wiring diagram and I'm trying to track it down that way, but thought asking out here might be an easier route. Thank you in advance.
I don’t think this car had a vanity mirror on the visor. Damn. Or at least there is not one there currently. Now that’ll be something else for me to figure out!
it’s amazing what some people change on these car. How they do it…and why!
I assume the wire used to run up the a-pillar under the molding?
