Happy New Year!
I don't post too often, but I do check in to see what's going on.
I have had my '79 for 15 years now, and I just wanted to leave a few thoughts on how to keep the car going, and not lose interest in it.
1. Fix items when they stop working, even the smallest things. If you let things go, then the list of repairs gets longer and longer... next thing you know it's an expensive unmanageable list.
2. I'm not sure if this helps, but I do it anyway. Every time I park the car, I turn on the headlights and switch the high beams on and off. My though process is if they don't get exercise, they will stop functioning. I have had no problems with the light doors.
3. This probably the most important. Drive the car when you can. I know it's difficult in the winter sometimes. This keeps stuff working properly such as brakes, steering, engine, transmission, etc...
4. Keep the car safe. I went to a car show, and I saw that somebodies tire came apart and shredded his fender. I checked my date codes, and they were unacceptable, so i put on some new cooper cobra's. They were $572, and well worth the money. (cost me a case of beer to get them mounted and balanced)
5. I get a lot of questions about the car, especially at the gas station, the most common being "what year is that?". I happily answer all questions with a smile. These are unique looking cars, and the younger generation has not really seen these cars before.
I have more, but I didn't want to make the post too long.
Happy New Year!

All you said is true. I've had mine well over 30 years now. just keep chasing those repairs.
its reliable and tuff and turns heads where ever it goes, I am certainly in the view of drive the *** out of it regularly and keep everything going as it was intended
Agreed with all your points. I only wish I could drive mine in the winter but our winters here are brutal.
I especially agree with #4, which I can relate to whole-heartedly. I just changed all four tires. They do have a shelf-life and luckily for me I found out without any major incident.
Have safe 2022, everyone.
Cheers!
