Greetings,
Is there an easy reason to why I have difficulty with my 4 speed shifter? It gives some resistance to going in gear on occasion. Car has 53k on it, 1979. Can I just lube the linkage? Are there any plastic wear bushings involved? I have yet to crawl under the car to research it. I thought to ask first.
Thanks

jump to post 70 and 74.. also check fluid level before you do anything.. linkage is not 'lubed' but alignment can be tough..TAKE LOTS PICS
Another thing to look at is clutch disengagement.......a LOT of aftermarket clutch kits simply will not release fully with the 1/2" push the throwout bearing provides......a clutch that does not disengage fully will cause notch shifting a reluctance to go into gear....
Lars did a thread on this......search for it......very interesting info.
