Default Drain Shields

Hello. I am installing the drain shields on the rear vent plenum tubes. The shield that drain into the wheel well. Not that it really matters much but would they be the the natural steel color or would they be black from paint as is the rest of the wheel well? I suppose it depends on when they were installed in the build process? I can't find any mention of them in the judging books, that doesn't mean it's not there though. Just curious if I should install as is or paint. Thanks and take care

Both my 71 and 72 appeared black ( from memory_ If I remember correctly)

The rivets were the real PIA.
