Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the brake lights, the hazards and the turn signals all use the filament in the taillight bulb on a 68? If so, I have a problem I don't understand and can use help with. My passenger side brake lights don't work but the turn signal and hazards do! Any ideas?
Please be aware that all of the taillight wiring goes through the turn signal switch. So the problem could be in there. But if only side does not work, it could be a ground issue. I am not good with electrical problems, sorry, so I hope someone can help you. Lou.
There are two filaments in each of the 4 tail light bulbs. One filament is for the running lights, that are controlled by the main light switch. The other filament is for brake, trun, and flashers. If it is just the pax side brake light that doesn't work, the issue has to be upstream of the main connector on the column. Just thinking out loud.
What they have said.... If all the other lights work it has to be in the steering column.
Edit:
Are you sure all the other lights work?

Check that the bulbs are the correct number and that they are put in correctly. Bubba often uses what is available whether it is correct or not and will stuff the incorrect bulb in there. I had some different number bulbs stuffed into one of my rear lights and it did what you describe. If you try hard enough you can put the bulb in wrong and still twist it hard enough to make contact on one filament as well.
