Default Opinions please on engine stamp

Just noticed a '69 coupe for sale that caught my eye and looking for some feedback on the engine pad stamp photos:

Before anyone comments: yes I know the pad is damaged and the pics are crappy and no, I'm not going to ask for better ones until I decide if I'm interested.

Wanting to know the consensus on whether what you can see looks genuine and what engine you believe it to be.

Thanks,
Brian

It’s hard to see, but it looks like it’s the LM broadcast code for a 427, 390 hp L36. The date appears to be 08/25 so that would line up with the early vin.

That’s the riverside gold coupe for $40k. That car has been for sale for a long time. I remember when the owner was asking $33k for it. The car looks good in the pics but I would be very careful. There is probably a reason it’s still for sale.

As for the pad stamp? Maybe it’s original, maybe not. You will never know for sure because of the damage but the fonts look correct…probably the original block with the correct LM code.

Thanks for the input - at leasy there's some chance the engine pad stamps may be legit.

There are a few other things that hint something may be NQR about this car but it maybe worth pursuing a little further.

Pretty sure it's a scam as requests for any fresh pics go unanswered and the car has been up for sale several times in the last 12 months. Also seller's phone number seems to be from a different state to where the car is supposedly located.

FYI and please proceed with caution if you come across this one: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/c...429989270.html
