Hi was trying to bring down my hood a little .. I tryed to turn the spring adjuster which has a slot for a screwdriver but it will not move . Any suggestions would be appreciated thanks.
No hes right theres a nut on the bottom under the spring ,,you loosen the spring to the left then you can adjust the nut up or down ,, the rubber foot is the fine adjustment
, the large ring the spring sits in is a "jamb nut" It's castellated with tabs that stick up that you'll need to hit to turn it (punch and hammer type of thing)

which one do I adjust first the rubber boot or the spring. Thanks
I drop the rubber stop some so it's out of the way and they carefully (don't slam the hood down out you'll risk poking a hole) and set the mushroom then bring the stop up.
The hood doesn't sit on the stop, that's there to keep it from going too far. If the stop is too high you also run the risk of the hood not releasing

rubber boot is the height, adjust that first, THe sping and latch pawl is your tension adjust that second. Remember the spring moves . that hard rubber boot on a sold bolt head does not. Do not slam your hood, place it on the spring and push down with the heel of your hand. IF you can not see a lock nut use a penetratiing oil and try to unscrew the pawl a nd spring before you try and screw it in

ok my hood sits a little high on the corner .. so I adjust down the rubber boot first and see if that makes it level

the rubber foot is the only thing that is supposed to hold the hood up. If you push down and it isnt making contact you will feel the spring move and the hood will have give to it. Put a little white lithium grease on top of the rubber foot and then lower the hood and latch it softley. Then pop it and see if the grease transfered to the hood. If it did lower the foot more. If it didnt latch the hood and try pressing own on it and see if it transfers. If it still didnt try lowering the spring pawl, maybe its hitting the underside of the hood...doubt it can bet you never know
ok, you need to be able to push the hood down to the level you want it at. that is the rubber stop or stops. after hood will go down far enough, you want to adjust the pin down which is really up to hold the hood at that height. the base of the triangle sits in the latch and sets the height the hood sits at. but you can not use it to force the hood lower or you will be posting ANOTHER "help i can't open my hood!!!" thread.
