regardless, all can be modded and get great handling.
Oh I see it hen I lift my car for sure, but not so much when Im driving it. Im sure its there since its a 68 and doesnt have the kick up trusses either, but you wouldnt know it. Crossing railroad tracks its obvious becassue the hood pops open when the frame twists nder the bocy at the firewall. THats been an issue with 68s since the day they rolled off the lot. Johnnies dad had one brand new and he got a few miles from the dealership and turned around and went back to the dealer to have then fix it, which they couldn't. When I first got mine he asked me if the hoods still popped open. I laughed and said yes, then he told me the story

yep, I would have the hood pop up pulling in
the drive way.
It sometimes popped in spirited driving

I don’t understand anyone buying a 6 speed over a 5 speed? Unless you have 4.11 gears or lower and drive high speed you will never see the benefit of that 6th gear.

Mine came in the engine package w/the set up. Would a 5 speed be the better option? Possibly, but I will say it's nice to run 75mph with a double overdrive and just abe a tad over idle RPMs and hear the radio and passenger despite having side exhaust.

I have a 5 speed, and turn 2k RPM at 80 mph, I chose a .6 5th gear overdrive from Silver Sport. It runs great.

If the RPM is too low the engine will labor / lug and not be happy.

A 383 Small block has enough torque and is light weight. best motor for a C3 in my thoughts

My LS2 in my C6 is a very flexible engine. At non freeway speeds, 5th gear is all the overdrive you'd ever need. However, in 6th, 60 mph comes in at 1300 rpm and fuel economy jumps from mid twenties to low 30's. Even at 1000 rpm at 50 mph, the engine pulls.

I don't think that people who own $75,000 - $150,000 + big block, muscle car "TOYS" driven minimally, really care about gas prices !
