Default What does she weigh?

One of our sons came by today in his 66 Mustang and said, “ let’s go to Donnas Truck Stop and weigh the cars”!
Can’t turn that little bit of fun down! LOL!
Mine came in at 3280lbs! She has an LS7, 4L75E, Air, ps, pb, convertible with soft top in the car and hard top on!
Not bad for a 53 year old girl!
Funny thing is the truck stop is built for . . . TRUCKS! I could not reach the call button so my son had to push it for me! Lol!
The mustang came in at 2900 something lbs! Great simple day!

That's lighter than I thought it would be!

What was the split front to back?

We'd hoped they'd share that but they had us put each car on a single pad.
We did not get the split. No hint as to why. I had to move forward for the printed weight.
Same on the Mustang.

She is lighter due to aluminum block and heads, fiberglass leaf springs, lighter wheels, etc etc. While looking mostly stock, she is not!
Given the ladies came out and took photos of the cars I suspect they are not used to seeing cars on their scales! LOL!

Nice car! I'm surprised the Mustang was that light too. Thought it would be more.

Thank you.

I don't know the exact specs on my sons mustang however it has had similar changes! LOL! Modern engine, tranny, etc. My son thought it would be lighter! LOL! I was surprised already at how light it is!

Spending the day with your son and goofing around with classic cars? That sounds like a pretty darn good day.

As I recall, there is shipping weight (no driver) and curb weight ( driver and full tank of gas) so I'd say your results were pretty much spot on.

I was full tank of gas but no driver! Lol!
I would have skewed the weights in a bad way!

I did this once years ago at a truck stop. 3550 lbs. with the spare.
When I got home I weighed the Rally/Firestone 500 combo on the bathroom scale and it was 58 lbs. alone!

Nice numbers.. .. You have over 100lbs in the hardtop and soft top alone. Sounds like a great day with the son. 😎

My 77 came in at 3400 lbs spot on. I've made some changes but not to lighten it up.
